JC’s Sportfishing Cabo Fish Report to February 24

JC Sportfishing Weekly Fish Report.
As the Admiral Seas It
Fishing Report: 2/17/14 to 2/24/14JC's Sportfishing Fleet, Cabo San Lucas

WEATHER: The weather has been really good over the last week and the wind has died down quite a bit. It has been actually a little warmer than normal for this time of year. There really hasn’t been a winter here to speak of with temperatures above average. I would say today it was pushing 85 to 90 degrees in the day time and lows into the ladder 50,s to mid 60,s

WATER: Marlin fishing hasn’t been effected by cooler water temperatures but it has hurt the Dorado and Tuna bite. When the cool water comes in we can expect a Yellowtail bite and always great Sierra and inshore action.

TUNA: The Tuna bite has slowed but one of our boats on Saturday went looking for the Tuna outside of the Jamie Banks about 27 miles offshore and we found a small school of Porpoise and we ran into some Tuna landing 20 Tuna in the 25lbs to 35lbs range. We ended up landing them on cedar plugs, well needless to say the people aboard were very happy clients. Read the complete JC’s Sportfishing Weekly Fish Report at LosCabosGuide.com

Weekly Fish Report- February 21, 2014

Tom Sachetta and his family made their way to Cabo from cold and snowy eastern Pennsylvania to get out of the cold and to chase Striped Marlin. They booked a charter on the “Picante Express” with Captain Antonio and the helm. The crew kept these guys busy all day releasing 14 Striped Marlin at boatside to fight another day. They also boated 1 Dorado that was dinner. The Striper bite is definately picking up. Click here to read  the  complete  Picante Fish Report on LosCabosGuide.com

Sushi Time Fish Report to February 21

Sushi Time Fish Report for the Week of February 14th thru the 21st, 2014 fgjk

Another slow week that was saved by a sudden chew that turned up some nice dorados.  We had early in the week the usual winter winds and a very bright full moon, this never helps with the fishing or with our ability to get live bait, diminishing even more our chances to catch good quality fish this week. Windy conditions for most of the week, that slowed down towards the end. Average temperature of 85º F, with cloudy skies and an average water  temperature of 72º F, cool water temperatures over the last 3 weeks has definitely keeps slow the fishing,  A slow week with 32 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 57.14% effectiveness catching fish, with just 6 Striped Marlin caught, this week and only 22+ dorado on slow trolled baits as well as lures. Bad Medicine Fishing Report February 2014

Bad Medicine Sport Fishing Cabo Fishing Report February 2014 kjfuyt

Cabo is enjoying possibly the nicest winter season ever on record here in the Baja. Temps in the mid 80’s and water temps in the mid 70’s, combined with mostly calm seas have kept the fishing hot as well. The Striped Marlin bite is holding strong. Tons of Stripey’s continue to hang out on the banks out on the  Pacific, and as the transition begins into the spring season, Marlin are also showing on the Sea Of Cortez side. The action for Stripey’s is hot with 4-6 shots at per day being common. There are even some Dorado mixed in there still too, whereas normally they head for warmer water by this time of year. Weekly Fish Report- February 15, 2014

The Tucker Family came to Cabo with a mission. They wanted to catch a billfish. So they jumped aboard our legendary 40′ Tolleycraft “Picante” for a day of fishing Cabo Style. With Captain Juan Carlos and the helm and deckhand “Beto” working the cockpit the crew did not disappoint. Their day on the water yielded 3 Striped Marlin that were released at boatside to fight another day. The Tuckers will be Picante customers for life. Fishing Report: 2/10/14 to 2/17/14JC's Sportfishing Fleet, Cabo San Lucas

WEATHER: Windy conditions most of the week .The weather has been actually a little warmer than normal for this time of year. What winter we have here in Cabo has been really nonexistent so far this year with temperatures above average. I would say today it was pushing 85 to 90 degrees in the day time and lows into the ladder 50,s to mid 60,s

WATER: Cooler, water temperatures over the last 2 weeks has slowed fishing the bite down some, especially the Dorado and Tuna bite. When the cool water comes in we can expect a Yellowtail bite and always great Sierra and inshore action.

TUNA: The Tuna bite has really not been in the picture this last week and what there was is just a few foot ball sized Tuna being caught scattered out and not in schools. Read the complete JC’s Sportfishing Weekly Fish Report at LosCabosGuide.com

Sushi Time Fish Report to February 12

Sushi Time Fish Report for the Week of February 7th thru the 12th 2014 sush t

Windy conditions for most of the week, but has slowed and its not to bad now, the fishing reflected it as well, with an average temperature of 85º F, with partly cloudy skies and an average water  temperature of 70º F, cool water temperatures over the last 2 weeks has definitely slowed fishing, especially the Dorado. This is to be expected as we can’t have great fishing all the time.  Luckily when the cool water comes in we can expect the Yellowtail and Sierra.  A slow week with 30 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 70% effectiveness catching fish, with just 6 Striped Marlin caught, this week and only 26+ dorado, but what keeps saving the day from getting skunked are the Spanish Mackerel, Bonita’s and Skip Jacks which  keep our rods bent. Cabo Magic Sportfishing Fish Report, February 12, 2014

Cabo Magic Sportfishing Cabo Fish Report February 12, 2014cabo-magic-sportfishing-2a-300x1384

February 12, 2014 – Great weather – warm and lots of sunshine. So happy to welcome travelers from all around the USA this week – lots of last minute travelers escaping the frigid cold back home!

DORADO + STRIPED MARLIN + WAHOO + SIERRA + YELLOWFIN TUNA

OK so its important to point out that the boats finding the Tuna are making a good run out – up to 30 miles out.
We don’t send single engine boats out more than around 5 miles from shore .. Single engine boats have enough horsepower to get their speed to 10-15 knots. To travel 10 miles that’s a good one hour run. And your time aboard includes travel distance to and fro.

The fish you are hunting do not wear calendars nor watches (!) They don’t pay attention when we change our clocks for daylight savings time (!!) They are following schools of bait (big underwater fish chain) and temperature breaks. That’s why we can find ‘offshore species’ inshore. But ‘inshore species’ will not be find far from home. They live in and amongst our rocky shoreline. They venture out to feed/breed and that’s when you catch them!

Weekly Fish Report- February 8, 2014

The Striped Marlin bite has slowed a bit, but the Tuna and Dorado are keeping our anglers happy. Mr. Kimberley and his family chartered our legendary 40′ Tolleycraft “Picante” with Captain Ivan Gomez at the helm. after several attempts they finally found a hungry Striper and it was released boatside to fight another day. The Dorado are schooling and it didn’t take long to put 12 of these tasty fish in the boat. Another great day of wintertime fishing in Cabo.
